Marijn Frankes wil bij Sensa Kanjers voor Kanjers de volgende stap zetten

Marijn Frankes wants to take the next step at Sensa Kanjers for Kanjers

In Rhythm of the Road, we follow the Airoman.cc teams and riders during their road races. From classic one-day races and local circuits to challenging stage races. We take you through the peloton and give you a behind-the-scenes look at our athletes.

In 2026, Marijn Frankes will be moving from Houttec to Sensa Kanjers voor Kanjers, coincidentally two teams with which Airoman.cc has a partnership. We spoke with him about his move, the Dutch opening weekend, and his goals for the upcoming competitions!

Switching to develop further
This winter, Marijn Frankes switched from Houttec to Sensa Kanjers voor Kanjers, aiming for further development and learning. "The team runs a comprehensive program with several stage races. For me, it's important to ride stage races because these kinds of races help me further develop my engine." With this program and the experience within the team, he hopes to become a more well-rounded rider and eventually make the step up to the professional ranks.

Show that we are strong as a team
During the opening weekend, Sensa Kanjers Kanjers delivered a strong team performance. "In Dwars door Drenthe, Patrick finished an impressive 20th, and in the Kasseienomloop Exloo, Tijn rode from the leading group to a respectable 9th place. Thanks to good teamwork in the peloton, we were able to effectively defend Tijn's leading group."

He also felt good during the races on the Dutch opening weekend. "In Dwars door Drenthe, I was unfortunately involved in several crashes, which reduced my chances of a good result. In Exloo, I had another good day. Together with Werner, I was able to position ourselves well for the cobbled sections, which made the race a bit easier for us."

The collaboration with Airoman remains of great value
Last season, Houttec also collaborated with Airoman, but for 2026, he only changed the color. "We rode with black aero socks, gloves, and overshoes, which made us look neat and professional in the peloton." He also praises Airoman's products. "The quality of the aero products is very high. We spend a lot of hours on the bike, but even at the end of the season, the equipment was still in good condition."

Riding a consistent season and continuing to learn
This year, he's mainly looking to ride a consistent season so he can prove himself. "My main goal is to learn as much as possible from the more experienced guys on the team. Of course, I hope to start as many races as possible, because that's what we train for, after all." On March 7th, he'll be at the start of the Ster van Zwolle, and after that, he hopes to ride the Metec Olympia's Tour at the end of March, one of the multi-day events on the Sensa Kanjers voor Kanjers race calendar.
